It's been awhile since I have blogged anything here. Even worse, it's been a long time since I've worked out.
For this reason, I have decided to make a challenge for myself for the month of October. I have decided that I can get in about 20-30 minutes of exercise in every day, so I will be doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred this month.
I can hear a few of you guys out there saying, "Jillian Michaels? Really? What are you, a 29-year-old woman?"
If you think that, you have obviously never tried the 30 Day Shred. This isn't Sweatin' to the Oldies! This is a 20 minute full-body circuit workout that uses weights, cardio and crunches. As I sit here typing this, I can feel muscles that I didn't even know I had.
And I've only done one day of it.
Only 26 more to go. (I am only doing it 27 days this month, since I will take Sundays off to rest.)
I have also made a couple of food goals for the month. One of those goals is going to be difficult for the month which contains Halloween: no candy.
Oh yeah, I've had a lot of people ask me if I'm still a vegetarian and I can proudly say that I haven't had any meat since July 23rd. In fact, I have also cut back on all animal products like milk, cheese and eggs. Basically, I follow Michael Pollan's rule of "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants." I don't know if my cholesterol has dropped any, but I'll find out in about a month when I get a physical.
I have lost a few pounds with it, even though that wasn't my intention.
