A New Year, A New Life

Too often we set our sights high in the days leading up to the New Year:

"This year I will eat more vegetables."
"This year I will drink more water and less pop."
"This year I will exercise more."

I can't count the number of times I have made resolutions such as these.  And then, about six days into the New Year, I have eaten enough carrots to make Bugs Bunny ill and I find myself downing an entire bag of Doritos without even realizing it.  (I wish I had one dollar for every New Year's Resolution that I have broken within the month of January.)

This year will be different, though.

Because, quite frankly, I am tired.

I am tired of paying $2 extra for shirts and pants.  I am tired of scheduling my days around when I eat next.  I am tired of feeling like I am having a heart attack every time I play with my kids.  I am tired of groaning whenever I sit on - or get off of - a couch.  I am tired of being called "Big Guy".  I am tired of being tired.

Basically, I am tired of being fat.

So, say goodbye to "Big (Fat) Guy".  He is going away forever.
